Report: Free Practice Quotes, Brno 2007

Quotes after the Free Practice sessions from Brno

Dimitri DEVERIKOS, nr 1 Tech9 Motorsport Porsche 997 GT3 Cup : “With the new evolution, the car is much better. We are racing for the first time with the new kit, so we have to put it all together in order to find a good set up. Here there are few tight corners, which is really good for our car.”

Jonathan LANG, nr 8 RMP Dodge Viper Competition Coupe : “Since the beginning of the season I’ve been driving a Porsche, and for the first time I’m in the Dodge. The car is interesting, very fun to drive. I spent all the first session on track, and during the second session it was Bradley Ellis’ turn. Bradley did very well in Monza. I hope it will be the same here, we could be a good surprise.”

Erik JANIS, nr 13 S-Berg Racing Team Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 : “I’m quite happy with our set up, the car is working well. It is a long time since I have driven this car and I just came back from the A1 GP test, and of course there is a huge different between those cars. This is my home circuit, I want a good result here. Jaromir Jirik is also very happy with the car. As usual it is going to be very tight.”

Klaus LUDWIG, nr 16 Martini Callaway Racing Corvette Z06R GT3 : “The team is working really hard, and really well, so as usual we had a really good preparation. This year, with the hard work we have done, the Corvette is good everywhere. We found a good set up, we were able to improve our time, and I’m ready to fight for the pole position.”

Frederic MAKOWIECKI, nr 26 Hexis Racing Aston Martin DBRS9 : “I never been here before. This is a wonderful track, very pleasant. Monza seems to be so long ago, I was really looking forward to be back in the FIA GT3 European Championship. Our car is good. We had a good set up straight away. We have a car to finish on the podium. Jean-Claude Lagniez is happy with the car and has a good feeling, so we could do something good.”

Wesley FONGENIE, nr 29 Damax Ascari KZ1R GT3 : “I did not know the track, so my main goal was to learn this track. The Ascari is really fun to drive, and this kind of track seems to be good for us, even if there are some quicker cars.”

Gilles VANNELET, nr 38 Kessel Racing Ferrari 430 : “I went off this morning. I was following Stephane Daoudi. He had engine trouble and he went off, I was just behind him and there was something slippery on the track and I went on the gravel. Hopefully I did not damage the car. During the second session, I had a puncture. It is a shame because we did not work enough during those sessions. But the car is really efficient. I hope we had enough trouble to last us for the rest of the week-end.”

Martin BARTEK, nr 43 Matech Concepts Ford GT : “It is a big day for us : for the first time we have three cars on track. It is fantastic, we worked hard and we are really proud to be here with three cars. We had a little problem with my car this morning, the engine was not ready, but all is OK, and I hope we will finish both races in good position. We now have to find a good set up. The car is not perfect yet, but we are working on it.”

Johan-Boris SCHEIER, nr 51 AutoGT Racing Morgan Aero 8: “Since Monza the team did a great job. We improved a lot; our main problem in Monza was because of our maximum speed. This track is much better for us. The Morgan is a real racing car, you have to fight hard to do a good lap, and it is really fun.”
